The project site is faced with two different dynamics; on the one hand, on the south side, it borders an avenue of metropolitan scale and to the east with a large parking lot; On the other hand, there is a park and a few consolidated housing slots.

 

In this scenario we are interested in reinforcing the importance of the park as a center for the community; linked to the school and which also results as meeting place. For this we created a continuous wide walk that invites people to surround the park whilst connecting with the Transmilenio portal.

 

We decided to take up the typology of medieval monastic buildings and make a set around a courtyard linked to a Public Building that can be opened to the community through a Plaza, generating by means of architecture an area of public activity that may contain various activities and dynamics and be active during the week and on weekends.

 

We believe that the life of the school revolves around the patio, and the corridors to that extent should be expanded and diversified to generate different meeting places. We envision that this space must be transparent and with very beautiful gardens of native flora.

 

The civic building that crowns the cloister should have the possibility of being visited in an autonomous way. It should serve as well as access to the terraces, which serve as a viewpoint of the eastern hills and the hills of Suba, valuing the landscape where it is located.

 

To that extent, this building must be a landmark within its surroundings, in the manner of the Romanesque towers. A building that activates social and cultural processes and becomes a benchmark for the city.
